jkojima ceramics was born in janet kojima's tiny backyard studio in sunny southern california.  a former lawyer turned ceramic artist, janet's pieces reflect her love of natural beauty, simplicity, and japanese american heritage.  every piece has a touch of wabi-sabi imperfection that reflects the warmth of something handmade.  jkojima ceramics is an environmentally sustainable run one woman operation, and every step of the process from the make of the piece to kiln firings is performed by janet herself.  it is extra work and time consuming, but janet ensures that every kiln firing is eco-friendly, uses water from rain barrels rather than running water from sinks, and recycles boxes and packaging to ship her ceramics in whenever possible to lessen the impact on our environment.  all her pieces are made with food safe glazes.  every piece is made with love, environmental consciousness, and hope that it will add beauty and enjoyment to one's daily routines and rituals.
